4.2 Blood Death Knight Tanking Spec:

32/6/3

Blood Tree

0/2 Butchery: You will not be having Runic problems, plus on boss fights its pretty silly to have this in your spec.

3/3 Blood Barrier: Your Blood Runes will always be on cool down, which means with this skill you will gain a 6% damage reduction buff. A MUST skill.

3/3 Bladed Armor: Not very vital, but in the long run this skill comes in handy. It increases your attack power by 6 for every 180 armor. More attack power, more damage, faster you down a boss.

2/2 Improved Blood Tap: Reduces the cool down of your blood tap by 30 seconds. Another no brainer.

3/3 Scent of Blood: A 15% after dodge, parry, or damage to gain 10 runic power for the next three melee swings, sign me up! This is the reason why you will not have problems with runic power.

2/2 Scarlet Fever: Your blood plague also debuffs the target with 10% reduced physical damage. An obvious want skill due to the fact we are so squishy.

0/2 Hand of Doom: If your raid comp does not have any good interrupters or your prefer to do it yourself take this skill, otherwise it is not needed.

0/3 Blood-Caked Blade: Despite having cake in the name and boosting our damage we do not want this skill. We are looking for survivability, not damage.

1/1 Bone Shield: Reduced damage taken, increased damage dealt, and when glyphed increase run speed? Better click this skill in your build.

3/3 Toughness: Anything to make us stronger, plus it stacks with Bladed Armor. So stronger and hit harder.

0/2 Abomination’s Might: This is a take on need basis skill. If you do not have the buff provided by your raid it is a good idea to respec with this in your build.

2/2 Sanguine Fortitude: Makes our defensive cool down more effective and easier to use.

2/2 Blood Parasite: This is a very good skill for survivability and aoe heals for your raid, however, not necessary a must have skill. If you need to shift points you could do so with this skill.

2/2 Improved Blood Presence: Increases runic generation and reduces critical change against you. Go ahead and spend those points.

3/3 Will of the Necropolis: I can not tell you how many times this skill saved me. Now that we are getting into the juicy skills of Blood Death Knights this and a few other skills are going to be vital to your build.

1/1 Rune Tap: I remember the good ol’ days when this skill was obtainable by every spec, but that was then. This skill is also needed for Will of the Necropolis so grab it, its the best point you will spend in your spec.

1/1 Vampiric Blood: Increases the Death Knights health and healing received, when glyphed it just increases healing received. Either way a very good skill.

3/3 Improved Death Strike: This skill puts your Death Strike on steroids. More damage, more crit, more health returned. Gotta love it.

1/1 Dancing Rune Weapon: Mirrors your skills adding damage and helps you parry a very useful skill.

Frost Tree

3/3 Runic Power Mastery: Comes in handy having the extra pool of runic power.

2/2 Icy Reach: Really just a skill to get us to Lichborne, no other use and better then the next skill.

0/3 Nerves of Steel Cold: Silly Blood Death Knight dual wielding is for Frost.

0/3 Annihilation: Don’t use Obliteration and we are not a DPS spec, pass.

1/1 Lichborne: Ah this is what we are looking for. Not really for its benefits of immunity from cc, but the fact we can heal ourself with death coils.

0/2 On a Pale Horse: This is more of a PVP option, no real use in tanking.

0/2 Endless Winter: Ditto “On a Pale Horse”

Unholy Tree

0/2 Unholy Command: No point in tanking.

0/3 Virulence: Once again we are not a DPS we are tanks. Bad tank no choose this skill, bad!

3/3 Epidemic: More disease uptime less GCD’s wasted reapplying them.

0/2 Desecration: No point, a PvP skill obviously.

0/2 Resilient Infection: Ditto Desecration.

0/3 Morbidity: Would be a nice skill, however, can not get to it and still have Lichborne so sorry!

Blood Death Knights generally serve as tanks, and one of the best classes at tanking. What makes them so unique is the fact they are the best self healing class in the game. Almost every move that the Death Knight does refunds it with a percentage of health. The only weakness of Blood Death Knights in tanking is the fact that they are very squishy. Normally they will not have a lot of parry or dodge, however, because of their self healing this is a thing to easily overcome. This is why it makes it vital that you know and understand the latest Blood Death Knight build.

Blood Death Knights are also viable in arenas and rated battle grounds as well. The mere fact that almost any class will have trouble taking down a Blood Death Knight 1v1 is a plus in both arenas and rated battle grounds. In arenas Blood Death Knights serve more as an annoyance then anything. Plus Death Strike their main move is one of the strongest hitting in the game. My Blood Death Knight will crit 50k on plate and high resistance enemies. In rated battlegrounds there is no better flag carrier. Slap a healer or two with the DK and it is a guaranteed win. The only problem with Blood Death Knights in PvP is the fact that they are easily kitable. What we have in strength in self healing, we lack in skills to grant mobility. The best way to over come this is to spec into things to make our opponents snared.

Just pick which blood death knight spec you are looking for:

Even though some of you may not know it. Death Knights have been around for quite some time, the second and third war to be exact. They are just making it to the WoW seen with WoLK. Let’s take a peak into where our lovable OP knights came from =D

Everybody’s fav raiding boss from BC, Kil’jaeden was up to his typical business and happen to enslave native orcs of Draenor. Enslave would be a harsh word to say towards Kil’jaeden, he provided good heath care to them. The only cost would be to forsake their shamanistic culture for the power of black magic. How harmful could that be? The orcs looked towards Azeroth to practice with their new skills a.k.a. invasion. The master minds of this invasion was Gul’dan and the warlocks of the demon-influenced Shadow Council. Like every evil leader, they abused their power and Gul’dan fell into a coma. Then came the smart orc Orgrim Doomhammer, bad ass name, who lead an assault against his leaders. With his mighty wraith he smited many a warlock, which since WoLK came out is not hard to do ingame anyways XD. Once ready to kill Gul’dan, almost like a predictable miracle awoke from his coma to beg for his life. He promised for sparing his life he would create powerful warriors loyal to the Horde in exchange. The once smart Doomhammer agreed. Suckerrrr…

Gul’dan summoned his loyal necrolytest to a very important meeting. He stated there were be cookies, milk, the whole nine. When his loyal subject arrived he sacrificed them all. And ever since them I have been scared of my business meetings. Thanks Gul’dan. Taking their souls and some souls of the previously wasted Shadow Council he imbued them into dead knights of Stormwind. Because Alliance obviously has better warriors, since they were dead in all… Anyways, hence the death knights arose. These death knights were dispersed amongst the orc clans and were slaughtered by the Alliance. Who won the Second War. Lawl… that part always makes me laugh…

The death knights that remained turned tail to the Dark Portal where, Teron Gorefiend, their leader, awaited. Like many corrupted souls they pledged their loyalty to Ner’zhul for a world of their own. Under their new loyalty they pillaged many a magical artifacts in Azeroth in a despite attempt to open the Dark Portal for Ner’zhul to escape Kil’jaeden.

As all good plans go, the magical spell back fired. Imagine if that happen… casting frost bolt…. backfire? Boom 14K Crit on yourself D’oh! It was raining dead death knights ( oxymoron they are already dead) in Shadowmoon Valley. Many of these fortunate souls still haunt the area of Deadwind Pass. Teron Gorefiend was also a casualty, but he didn’t stay dead for long. If you did a certain questline in Shadowmoon Valley, you helped him come back from the dead once again to join Illidan in the Black Temple, where he started creating a new breed of death knights from fel orcs. Tisk Tisk. Helping out evil eh? You and 24 of your friends better get the Ho-Train ready. This maniac must be stopped. And while your there tell Illidan I said hi!!!!!111!1!!

After the fireworks at Shadowmoon Valley, we have no more death knights /mourn… but once again the Burning Legion threatens the world with the transformed spirit of Ner’zhul, a.k.a. Lich King ( and not the one we currently know). Prince Arthas, a.k.a. the new Lich King, went to find the mystical runeblade Frostmourne so he could eliminate the Scrouge. Luckily he had his magic finding gear on and found the blade. O yayz ^.^ and it took his soul O noes >,<. Arthas was now loyal to the Lich King and lost the blessings of the light for necromantic powers. Arthas was the first, but not the last, death knight that didn’t die. Well you could say he died in the soul a lil.

The new fad amongst the Paladins was to venture into the deep of Notherend and get corrupted, turning into a death knight. Go figure, you look for evil and turn to evil. Thats like going to McDonalds pissed about your food and leaving buying more food. RETarded.
