Hunters have always been among the WoW’s elite – the leveling gods. They are quite simply among the few class that are famous for their fast leveling potential, thanks to their unmatched soloing capabilities and the assistance they get from their pets. In this Hunter leveling guide, we will help you with blasting your way up to the level cap.

First off, Hunters alone have the capacity to skip as much as 10 levels’ worth of training and gaining new abilities. Whereas most classes will have to grind their way up, the Hunters could just easily breeze through the levels. Their leveling speeds are crazy, compliments of their capacity to dish out some really powerful and consistent DPS. They can even hold their own in battle without a gear, with the exemption of course of weapons. They need weapons that can help them stand against their opponents.

Best Path For Leveling All Hunter talent trees are viable for leveling although the beast Mastery Tree stands out as the best for faster leveling. Considered to be the fastest route for leveling Hunters, the tree’s uptime capacity is only constrained by the health of the Hunter’s pet. It is not surprising, therefore, that this talent tree focuses on enhancing the pet and not the Hunter, although there are a few buffs for the hunter too. This tree eventually leads to the creation of a war machine that is capable of finishing multiple targets at once.

It is interesting to note that while this tree enhances the hunter’s pet, its area of focus is not on improving the damage output the pet has. But on how much aggro the pet minion can handle as well as how durable and reliable it is as a tank.

Talents To Pick Up For Faster Leveling At the first tier of the talent tree, you will immediately encounter the Aspect of the Hawk. You see, even though other classes like Warlocks and Druids can call their pets to battle, only the Hunters have that level of affinity with the creatures of Azeroth that allows the class to make full use of the creature’s various talents. In fact, the Hunters are alone in the league of characters that can name their pets, tame them, and actually distribute talent points to their pet minions. Not only that, they can also choose from more than 30 pet species and more or less 150 pet appearances. Overwhelmed with your options yet? As a Hunter goes deep into the Beast Mastery tree, they could also access some very exotic WoW pets.

The succeeding talents you should pick include Focused Fire, Unleashed Fury, Intimidation, Bestial Discipline, Frenzy, Bestial Wrath and finally the Beast Within. All these talents could lead to the creation of a superb meat grinder that will easily finish off enemies. Some these also enhance survivability which could come in really handy when you’re faced with opponents impossible for you to defeat.

If Beast Mastery is not to your taste, you can always try to go deep in other talent trees. But understand that this Hunter leveling guide sees the Beast Mastery talent tree as the ideal tree for leveling hunters.

Although a Hunter can easily level its way to the level cap, a good, well-written Hunter leveling guide could still come in handy. To get the hang of this, start with using a free guide first then move to those paid guides. Spend as much as you can on guides since these actually work regardless of the class you’re playing.

When you show up on the scene for a raid you need to be fully cocked, don’t be the guy who’s half cocked. You need to be sure that you have all of your hunter enchants done.

Your armor, your weapons everything is ready to go. You can take on the enchanting profession yourself. Save you a lot of gold and it’s a lucrative profession.

Guys in your raiding party are going to need enchants all the time not mention that they probable have lots of friends that they can point your way.

The enchanting icon will be in your spell book, Click on it and this will open the enchanting window. The upper part of the window will list the enchants that you can do. The bottom part will show information about the enchant you selected in the top portion.

To enchant a person’s gear open a trade window with them. They will then enter their item in the not to be traded section at the bottom. Then you select the proper enchant and click perform enchant, then select their item and that is all there is to that.

Enchanting is only half of it though, you will also be able to break down items through disenchanting. You will be able to return items to their core structure.

You can only disenchant green items or better. When you disenchant something it destroys the item. Make sure that you are not going to need that item later.

To be able to disenchant items also requires certain game levels. Once you hit level 300 you will be able to disenchant everything in the game.

So the bottom line on enchanting is the if you can’t do it yourself, you will be paying somebody or asking a team member to do it.

For enchants that you cannot learn from the trainer you will be buying the mats or sometimes a mob will drop the one you need.

An item can only have one enchant at a time however as you grow in skill the item can have a better enchant. One item can be enchanted many times. It will just carry the last enchant done.

You will need a runed rod to perform enchants. As you level up you will need to get greater rods. When you create a higher level rod for hunter enchants the older rod will be destroyed in the process.

There are many good professions for hunter’s. I believe that enchanting is the best all around skill. It will allow you to enchant your personnel items as well as those of your raiding party. You can also get an assortment of useful item for disenchanting. Click here for Free information on hunter enchants.

Hunters, as any decent WoW player will tell you, are one of the the easier classes to level in the game. Their pets can be built into tanking machines, handling elites on their own while you sit behind the action doing loads of damage. But use the best hunter leveling spec, and you’ll level faster than anyone else.

Of course, the key to doing that is to specialize your hunter properly. Any of the three spec trees will benefit your leveling but Beast Mastery is by far and away the best as it gives you the most talents for transforming your pet into a proper tank. If you are good enough, you can build your pet up so strongly that your Hunter will not even need any armor at all!

Here is one of the most highly recommended builds – Zygon’s build – for leveling a hunter quickly, in order from your first talent point:

BEAST MASTERY TREE

Start with 5 points into – Improved Aspect of the Hawk

3 points in Endurance Training (3/5)

then 2 points – Focused Fire

5 points in Unleashed Fury

1pt in Aspect Mastery

1 point in Intimidation

2 points in Bestial Discipline

1 point in Improved Mend Pet (1/2)

5 points in Frenzy

2 points – Bestial Discipline

1 point – Animal Handler (1/2)

5 points – Frenzy

5 points in Serpent is Swiftness

1 point – Bestial Wrath

5 points – Serpent’s Swiftness

1 point in Longevity

1 point – The Beast Within

1 point in Beast Mastery

Then change to the Marksmanship Tree, and put

1 point – Beast Mastery

Move to the Marksmanship Tree and put

3 points in Careful Aim

3 points – Careful Aim

5 points in Mortal Shots

1 point – Go for the Throat (1/2)

Finish off with the Survival Tree and put

5pts in Improved Tracking

Use Serpent String, Aspect of the Viper, Hunter’s Mark for your major glyphs, and choose feign death, revive pet, mend pet for your minor glyphs.

As for your major glyphs, you will want Serpent String, Aspect of the Viper, Hunter’s Mark.

Zygon’s build focuses solely on leveling up as fast as possible. With the added bonus to critical chance, damage and holding aggro, it is perfect for working through the levels. It does not, however, work particularly well if you want to take part in a lot of PvPing. If that is more your style, then here is another build that works quite well.

Start with 5 points into – Improved Aspect of the Hawk

2pts in Focused Fire

2 points in Improved Revive Pet

1 point in Aspect Mastery

4 points (of 5) in Unleashed Fury (4/5)

5 points – Ferocity

1 point – Intimidation

2 points – Bestial Discipline

2 points in Bestial Discipline

1 point in Animal Handler (1/2)

5 points in Frenzy

1pt in Animal Handler

1 point in Bestial Wrath

5 points – Serpent’s Swiftness

1pt in The Beast Within

3pts in Cobra Strikes

1pt in Longevity

5pts in Kindred Spirits

1 point – Beast Mastery

MARKSMANSHIP TREE

5 points – Lethal Shots

3 points – Focused Aim

5 points in Mortal Shots

3 points – Improved Hunter’s Mark

Finally, change to the Survival Tree and put your last 5 points in Improved Tracking.

1pt in Aimed Shot

Glyphs: Freezing Trap, Bestial Wrath, Hunter’s Mark.

Minor Glyphs: Revive Pet, Mend Pet, Feign Death.

Both build orders have a similar focus, although the second is more PvP orientated. They both start with Aspect of the Hawk, increasing your Hunter’s attack speed. You can not explore the Beast Mastery tree without including the all-important Beast Mastery talent. Unleashed Fury, which adds a passive damage increase to your pet, is another essential talent as well. There’s also Ferocity, which improves your pet’s critical chance and is a must-have if you want to do any lasting damage to the more powerful mobs.

While they differ, there is one critical point with both builds – you must micromanage your pet properly! The key is making sure your pet takes all the aggro, otherwise your Hunter will get mauled in a matter of seconds. Using your pet as a main tank is an absolute requirement, because most of your talents will be spent on improving your pet’s capabilities. If you don’t do that, you are going to have a difficult time. Play it properly, however, and you will level faster than anyone else in the game.

Any veteran of World of Warcraft will relate that hunter talents have changed quite a bit, but what hasn’t changed is that all talent specs for the Hunter make them effective at leveling to one extent or another. As a player approaches end-game, however, things get less flexible and tough decisions have to be made between possible specs.

Beast Mastery focuses on making the hunter’s pet more powerful. Although all talent trees are good for leveling, BM is considered the best specialization for leveling very quickly. In fact, early specialization in this tree has been called ‘easy mode’ with the right pet. Obviously, specializing in this talent tree makes a hunter more dependent on his or her pet for success, which can be risky.

Most recently, Beast Mastery has been outpaced at raiding and player versus player by the other two talent trees, Marksmanship and Survivability. Even under ideal conditions and with ideal equipment, Beast Mastery just isn’t as effective, long-term, as it used to be.

The Marksmanship talent tree is popular in raiding and great for fighting other players. Specializing at least a little in this talent tree will increase the power of your ranged attacks. This fact makes nearly every hunter put about 14 points in Marksmanship. Maxing out Lethal Shots, Careful Aim, Mortal Shots, and Go for the Throat are considered mandatory in any build.

Survival may not be a well-known specialization to level up your hunter, but in the late game, it’s considered amongst the best. Some talents are particularly nice utilities in raids, like replenishment, which restores some mana to the raid every time you critical. Explosive shot, likewise, is the most powerful talent in the Survival tree and the main goal of any specialization here.

The Hunter character is one of the most popular classes in the game World of Warcraft. There are many different builds that can be utilized through the talent tree.

If you would like to stay current on the best hunter talents, search the Warcraft forums and always check the patch notes to see how changes to the game will affect your Hunter build.

Hunters, who were once deemed the easiest class to play, now have become more difficult. With spec’s changing every patch its really hard to keep your dps up. I have been through it all, each talent tree has been the “top” at one point or another. Since the huge BM nerf, survival has been the spec to play. I remember when people used to get made fun of for even putting points in survival… Times have changed and so have survival hunter shot rotations. So with out further a due here we go.

Here is the general spec that I will be going by: Survival Hunter PvE Spec Now you do not have to have this spec, but you have to have the general structure of the cookie cutter survival pve spec. Most likely if you have been survival for a while you will already know this spec, but for you new comers this post will be gold for you!

Like all classes you will have a list of “priority” skills:
Kill Shot
Explosive Shot
Serpent Sting
Black Arrow
Multi-Shot or Aimed Shot
Steady Shot

Kill Shot is number one because it obviously does the most damage when available. Explosive Shot will be your big hitter and I will be covering some very important facts on how to use it properly in a moment. The reason behind Serpent Sting beating out Black Arrow is because of Noxious Stings giving a 3% increase to ALL damage done by you. Black Arrow comes next because of its 10% proc for Lock and Load. Next are Multi-Shot or Aimed Shot because they are “instant” damage. Lastly, Steady Shot should fill in your blank spots in your rotation.

Now this sounds easy, but there are a few kinks in the rotation that make it difficult. Lock and Load. Since it is not a guarantee when the counter will tick to proc Lock and Load you obviously will have to take 2 things into consideration. How will I fit this into my rotation and what shots will I use?
How will it fit? Use it right after the ending of your next GCD. Lock and Load provides a massive damage boost that you can not pass up! Next what shots to use? This is where hunters get divided… Some say Explosive > Steady > Explosive or Explosive > Arcane > Explosive > Multi or Aimed . Well I say and can prove mathematically… Explosive > Explosive > Explosive . Now the catch is that you should space your Explosive Shots out 2 seconds each or you will clip the last tick on each explosive shot. Before I explain more heres the math:

WITHOUT ANY MODIFIERS, MAX DAMAGE POSSIBLE (NON CRIT), AND 4,000 AP.
Explosive = 3,072 (Full ticks)
Arcane =1,092
Multi = 1,224 (When hitting 3 targets)
Steady = 652

Explosive > Steady > Explosive > Steady > Explosive

That rotation is 10,520 damage over 11 seconds resulting in 956 dps.

Explosive > Arcane > Explosive > Multi-> Explosive

That rotation is 11,532 damage over 8 seconds resulting in 1,441 dps.

Explosive > Explosive > Explosive

That rotation is 9,216 damage over 6 seconds resulting in 1,536 dps.

Numbers don’t lie folks learning when to fire your shots improves your dps dramatically. I have noticed that the 2 seconds is over when the skills blink to show the GCD is over. Note: Not when they are over… after the blink finishes. The next best thing is to get a UI like X-pearl and make your DoT’s on the target large so you can see the Explosive Shot DoT in your peripheral vision.

Now to start your rotations you want to start off with Hunter’s Mark > Serpent Shot > Explosive Shot > Black Arrow > Multi-Shot or Aimed > Steady Shot. Hunter’s mark grants you 500 more ap = boost in dps, then Serpent Sting boost damage by 3% which = more dps + the dot that follows, then the rest is commonsense following your shot priorities. Remember when Lock n Load is ready it takes all priority! If kill shot is available at the same time, sneak it between your Explosive Shot x3 rotation.

As for your CD’s obvious rule spend them when you can get the max out of them. Aka when blood lust or heroism is popped, when you know you will be standing still, when you have a buff or boss has debuff… etc etc etc.

Another good source for hunter dps is femaledwarf.com. Upload your armory info and bam few clicks later it shows your max dps. I found a few features that need to be updated with the 3.3 patch, other then that a really nice application.

As for addons here you go: Hunter Addons. Everything you need and then some. Bartender 4, which if you don’t have this well… now you do and welcome to addons. Kharthus Huntard Timers which monitors your CD’s and tells you when LnL procs. ZZHuntard which automatically tracks whatever you target which means 5% damage boost. If your dps doesn’t go up after reading this you should just alt+f4 and destroy your computer… Happy Deepsing!
