Congratulations for deciding to wear a Spartan Halloween costume this year and I feel obligated to applaud your wise Choice. After all, Halloween Spartan costumes are far from just being very good looking and bringing to mind gallantry and heroism. They also remind us of an ancient civilization that deserves to be remembered.

But who are the Spartans, where do they come from and what have they do?

The Spartans were citizens of Sparta, a powerfully dominant militant city state in ancient Greece reigning between 11 BC and 195 BC. And Sparta was sprawled on the banks of the River Eurotas in a region called Luconia which is on the south eastern side of Peloponnese.

Having been born a male in Sparta meant becoming a lifelong soldier who begins training as a young boy and retires at the time of death. Thus, when a mighty force of Persians attempted to invade Greece, they were pushed back and defeated by merely 300 Spartans. So, Spartans went down in history as a force that is impossible to overcome.

Interestingly enough, Sparta, its citizens’ way of life and their culture have been attracting worldwide interest for centuries. So much so that a new word had been coined: Laconophilia. And that means the love and admiration of Sparta and all its aspects. The word Laconophilia itself originates from the word Laconia which is the name of the region where Sparta had been located.

So, with Halloween coming up faster than you might expect, visit Spartan Costuomes.org and look around you. There you will find the highest quality Spartan costumes for the most reasonable prices. All their Spartan are perfect for Halloween, of course. But they are also perfect for other special occasions (holiday celebrations, Mardi Gras carnivals, parades, school plays, theme parties, etc.) and they are available to regular and plus size adult men, sexy women, teen kids, toddler children, infant boys and girls.

Avoid procrastination, do your shopping right now.

Looking to start a new warrior but unsure of how to go about it? Well, put aside your worries, because we’ll tell you everything you need to know to get your new warrior on the way up. This guide will teach you the ropes of warrior, and tell you all you need to know for your first forty levels.

Gear is the first thing you need to know about as a warrior. And the first thing you need to know about gear is : Cap your hit ASAP. But don’t get more than you need (5%) if you can avoid it, as it is worthless beyond this point. Otherwise, get as much Strength and AP as you can; Strength is better, one Strength is worth about 2.25 AP for leveling purposes. Agility and Stamina aren’t horrible, but are nowhere near as good as the others.

So you know what to wear, now how should you spec? We’re going to ignore the conventional wisdom here, because these days it is wrong. So instead of a DW Fury spec, we’re going to go Prot and use a one-handed weapon and a shield, at least for these first forty levels. Not only is it the best questing spec, it is the best spec for taking advantage of the new DF System to run instances while you level.

Something like http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#LZZi0trx0dV:bZc will have you plowing through mobs without ever needing to rest, while dealing equal or greater damage than comparable Fury or Arms builds. Not to mention there is more to do as a low-level Protection warrior, making it much more fun to play than other specs.

Now after 40, things begin to change some, and you’ll probably want to re-spec to one of the damage trees; they begin to out-damage Protection around here, and they gain much-needed survivability in the form of Plate. Although if you enjoy Protection, it is still perfectly viable as a leveling spec.

Now, you know you should spec Protection, but there is a lot to keep in mind to play Protection to it’s maximum, so pay attention! First of all, stay in Defensive stance. You may lose a tiny bit of damage, but a ton of amazing reactive abilities are D-stance only, meaning you need to stick to it! The only exception is switching over to Battle stance, Charging or Victory Rushing, then switching back.

Bloodrage>Shield Block>Concussion Blow>Revenge>Mocking Blow>Battle Shout(If down)>Heroic Strike is the priority list you should be using. In other words, use whichever of these abilities is available, starting with Shield Block, as often as it is available. If Shield Block and Concussion Blow are on cool-down, but Revenge is up, use Revenge, for example. The only reason to diverge from this is if you want to save Shield Block for big multiple-mob pulls.

Obviously there is more to Warrior than just this, but these basics will get you started. When pulling extra mobs, don’t forget to go Battle Stance and use Retaliation, and use Demoralizing Shout and Thunderclap when damage gets too heavy. Keep Battle Shout up; Bloodrage is handy for this. And don’t forget long emergency cooldowns like Shield Wall and Last Stand–they’ll save you a long run back to your corpse.

Considering starting a World of Warcraft account? You want to play something useful, but isn’t overplayed? Give warrior a shot, it’s welcome everywhere, and can fill two roles, tank and dps. First things first, you’ll have to give each race a look over, I’ll start with the alliance races.

Humans can excel in any class they roll, with its abilities being spread out, but not focused. Starting with Every Man for Himself, the PvP trinket in a racial, it has uses in PvE situations, too. Freeing up a trinket slot endgame is nice, too. The bonus to sword and mace expertise is great, making gearing easier and increasing damage and threat output. The ability Perception is great for PvP; it allows you to see stealthed units from farther away, giving you and extra chance to react. Lastly, the bonus to reputation gains is very nice, you’ll be grinding lots of reputation at max level.

Dwarven racials are just as balanced as Humans, allowing them to excel at tanking and PvP. The main ability, Stoneform, grants a ten percent bonus to your armor score, and removes and bleed and poison debuffs on you. This has uses in both PvP and PvE, and should be remembered in both situations. Next thing is the bonus to mace expertise, increasing both your dps and threat output, very nice. The only other racial worth mentioning, is the bonus to frost resist, nice in PvP.

Gnome racials are more PvP oriented. The main ability, Escape Artist, drops movement impairing effects from you. This has its obvious uses for PvP, but it can help the tank pull mobs away from the healers and ranged dps in a raid or instance. The bonus to engineering is nice; engineering is a great profession in both PvP and PvE. Arcane resistance isn’t bad. A racial no listed on the list is the Gnomes size, they’re harder to target in PvP, where each second counts.

Night Elves are balanced, more geared towards tanking and PvP. The main ability Shadowmeld has more use in PvP endgame, letting you get out of sight, in battlegrounds this can ensure your survival. They have a bonus to evasion, which ic handy in PvP again, but even nice in tanking, when you need every point you can get. Wisp form makes leveling faster, keeping corpse run times down.

The Draenei racials don’t making you more effective at anything in particular, but make the whole experience generally easier. Gift of the Naaru can keep you alive in a pinch while leveling, while tanking, and in PvP too. It’s a good ability, and should probably be used if you’re even considering it. The bonus to Jewelcrafting is nice because the profession is really useful for making gold and even gearing. The shadow resist isn’t bad. Heroic Presence is awesome, a passive bonus to hit for the entire party.

This should give you a better idea of where to start in your adventures in Azeroth, I hope you enjoy playing. Before you go though, remember not to undercut someone in the Auction House, and to stay geared. Have fun with your warriors!

For anyone rolling a new warrior or contemplating a race change for their current one, racials are an important factor. While they don’t matter as much as player skill or gear, they can make an appreciable difference for those looking to min/max. We’ll discuss the benefits each race brings to the table.

The first race is of course Human. Their on-use racial, Every Man for Himself, is pretty good for Tanks, although it is situational. Where it really shines is PvP, where it is probably the best racial in the game. Their extra expertise with maces and swords is handy across the board, adding DPS with the relevant weapons. Perception is handy against stealthers in PvP, but don’t expect to beat stealthers at their own game too often.

Drarves remain a popular warrior race, and for good reason. Stoneform shines in both PvP and tanking roles, adding survivability and removing a variety of nasty effects. Dwarves also get a noticeable damage bonus when wielding maces; they bonus expertise is even greater than a Human’s. Finally, their Frost Resistance can help in WotLK’s frost-heavy PvE encounters and against frost-wielding PvP foes such as mages.

Third to plate is gnome. Gnomes lack beneficial talents for DPS, and Escape Artist, while not useless for Tanking or PvP, is weak in comparison to other on-use racials such as Every Man or Stoneform. PvP gnomes also have an extra 2% arcane resistance, which is useful against mages.

Night Elves are like gnomes in that they lack any damage improving talents, but unlike gnomes they have other decent racials. Elusiveness is a fantastic racial for PvP and Tanking, and Shadowmeld is great for getting the jump on enemies in PvP.

Finally we have Draenei. For DPS, Tanking, and PvP, Heroic Presence is a great boon, reducing the amount of Hit you and your party need to stack by 1%. Unfortunately it doesn’t stack, so it is a waste if you are not the only Draenei around. Gift of the Naaru can be a decent emergency heal too, and is equally handy for Tanking, DPS, and PvP, although generally if a Tank needs to heal himself things are going badly. Their extra Shadow Resistance is also a nice bonus when facing Warlocks and Priests in PvP.

So, to summarize; Night Elves make the best tanks thanks to their amazing extra avoidance. For PvP, there is no better race in the game than Human, thanks to the amazing Every Man for Himself freeing up a trinket slot. And for DPS or all-around purposes, Draenei heads the list.

Determining which race your new Horde warrior should be can be difficult. Some of the racials are worded vaguely, and determining whether Blood Fury or Berserking is better is impossible unless you’ve compared them at 80. But don’t fret, because we’ll go over each race, detailing the value its racials brings to the table for PvP, Tanking, and DPS.

Undead is our first race up for discussion. Undead do okay as tanks, as Will of the Forsaken can save the day when you get CC’d and need to regrab aggro pronto. For DPS, they are somewhat less usefull; getting back to your DPSing just isn’t THAT vital. And thanks to the 3.3 nerf, Will of the Forsaken is a lot less useful for PvP these days.

The poster children for the Horde are up next. Orcs are good DPSers, bringing a fair bit of damage to the table with Blood Fury, and even more when wielding axes thanks to Axe Expertise. For Tanking, they are somewhat less impressive; none of their racials really helps. And for PvP, in addition to the extra damage and burst they bring, they have a 15% reduction to stuns, making them worthwhile PvPers overall.

The cow-people are up next. Tauren are amazing Tanks, thanks to their boosted health, and the occasional Warstomp when trash gets out of control. Unfortunately, though, as DPS their racials don’t really contribute anything. For PvP they are amazing for the same reasons they make good tanks; extra health and a AoE stun are both great benefits.

The last Horde race that can be Warrior is of course Troll. In PvP, Da Voodoo Shuffle is a handy reduction of movement impairing effects, and Berserking can bring ridiculous burst to the table. Berserking also shines for PvE DPS Warriors, adding a significant amount of damage to the meter. For tanking, Regeneration is the only thing that really contributes, and it isn’t worth much.

So which races are best for which purposes? Tauren is the clear winner for PvP, now that Undead is getting nerfed. For DPS, you want Troll or Orc; Orc is better when wielding Axes, Troll otherwise. Since a lot of top-end weapons are axes right now, Orc is probably the better choice. And finally, Tauren once again are the best, this time for Tanking.

Hopefully you now know what race you want for your Horde warrior. I personally prefer Tauren, since I PvP a lot and a tank not dying means way more than a DPS doing a few dozen more damage per second. Be sure to check out my site, and good luck with your warrior!
