Iron Mining Guide

By admin | May 11, 2009

Next we will be looking at the best locations for your iron mining route. I believe in my personal opinion this is the last of the “easy” routes. The rest of the routes will either be camped, which in a pvp server can hurt, or hard to come by. Lets enjoy these iron mining routes while they last.

Thousand Needles is a predominantly horde zone. Sorry alliance, but there will be some zones for you later. This iron mining route is pretty self explanatory. You follow the edge and it will be easy to mine. Plus I like this route because you also get a “transition” from tin.

Stranglethorn Vale… I hate this place to death. I remember for most of my toons I had to suffer through this content without a mount. These new kids just don’t understand how hard it used to be in the old days. The only thing that hasn’t changed is the fact that this is the gank capital of Azeroth. Putting all that hate aside, this place does hold some potential for mining iron. Along the eastern ridge and south by Booty Bay you can find the most iron nodes.

Hillsbrad Foothills has some hidden potential for mining iron. Most people think its rather impossible to find iron here, but they didn’t do a concentrated search like I have. These three small routes are loaded with iron nodes. This is not worth “power leveling”, but if you are questing its a good investment to stop by to get a couple extra points into mining.

The Badlands is one baddddd place to level your mining. By bad I mean bad ass. Just look at the map. Of course this is gonna be loaded with nodes. Not to mention mithril can also be found here. Sticking to the point… this is probably your best choice for your iron node needs.

Arathi Highlands is my secret spot for iron. Not the best spot to do while questing, but when “power leveling” I will always go here first because it seems like it doesn’t have a lot of competition
