WoW Mining Guide

By admin | March 15, 2009

Lets face it. Mining is one of those need to know professions. It’s hard to level because WHERE ARE THE NODES. Well, ok I will wait till I hit 80 then power level mining. What do you mean it cost 50g per mithril ore stack? So power leveling mining could be more of a hassle then we previously thought. Lucky for you I took the time to actually find out the quickest way of leveling mining wither its while you level or at level 80. Also you can find a sufficient amount of gold from once you level mining to 450.

Note from Christopher Beachum: From my experience on many servers during my wow “career” I seen that there is not “set” route that works the best for ever server. This is why I provide you with many routes. Some may work on one server, but camped heavily on another. Thus variety is the name of this wow mining guide =) Happy mining!

Mining Copper:
Skill: 1-65

This is the first step in a now short road to mining level 450. To be honest, I believe the earlier levels are harder then the later on levels. Its just so boring to do this, or takes away from my questing time. You can’t really sell these ores/bars for a lot either, but you need to do it :/. A necessary evil I say. My suggestion to you is to save all ore and smelt and make bars out of them for “power leveling”, even though your the one that mined the ore…  I will ,however, cut down the time you spend in this section by supplying you with the most popular routes for mining copper:

WoW Horde Copper Mining Route

WoW Alliance Mining Guide

For more routes please visit the Alliance Copper Mining Guide or the Horde Copper Mining Guide.

Mining Tin:
Skill: 66-125

Many of these routes may seem “repetitive”, but there are subtle changes in the routes that make them better fit for what you are currently trying to mine. Remember how I told you to save those copper bars? Well as you mine you will get mainly tin, which when smelted with copper gives your bronze, and a skill up! Here are the following most popular tin mining routes:

Mining Iron:
Skill: 126-175

Now you will be mining Iron, or rare nodes of gold. At level 155 you will be able to smelt gold so remember SAVE YOUR BARS. This will make you a very happy camper in the end and save a lot of running/riding time. The following is the best routes I use for mining iron:

Mining Mithril:
Skill: 176-245

For some odd reason beyond me I always find this the hardest  part of mining. It seems wither your leveling or power leveling its always a strain on your time and gold. Ever since the beginning of WoW this has been on of the harder nodes. Always being camped and always being overpriced. This is why I came up with a bunch of routes. Find which one fits your server the best. These routes mithril mining routes:

For more routes, and believe me you will need them, please visit the Mithril Mining Guide.

Mining Thorium:
Skill: 246-300

Unfortunately you will not be able to mine rich thorium until 275. Thorium seems to be one of the most abundant nodes in the game. It can easily take you into 340 skill level. Plus can fetch quite the pretty penny on AH. Here are some thorium mining routes I use:

For more routes please visit the Thorium Mining Guide.

Mining Fel Iron:
Skill: 301-350

Just like mithril, fel iron is usually heavily camped. With the release of WoLK this isn’t as bad as it used to be. If you wanted to you can level mining all the way to 375 with fel iron (smelting to 340), but I wouldn’t recommend it. Fel Iron turns green around 350 and leveling 25 more points in green is a pain. Here is my favorite route for fel iron mining:

WoW Fel Iron Mining Guide

For more routes please visit the Fel Iron Mining Guide.

Mining Adamantite:
Skill: 351-375

Once you hit skill level 350 both rich and regular Adamantite nodes become available. This makes the process easy, for that extra 25 points till 375. Since WoLK release if you wanted to you can skip this section, due to Cobalt is also available at 350. Here are the most resourceful Adamantite routes that I have found:

WoW Adamantite Mining Guide

WoW Adamantite Mining Guide

For more routes please visit the Adamantite Mining Guide.

Mining Cobalt:
Skill: 351-400

Depending on your patience, you may or may not be at level 375 by now. If not this section can prove to be a little tricky because of the higher level mobs that will horde your nodes. Also if you have not gotten a flying mount by now you will have a really hard time with the last leg of this guide because its all about time when mining where there will be people camping these nodes. Here are some of the easier cobalt mining routes:

WoW Cobalt Mining Guide

For more routes please visit the Cobalt Mining Guide.

Mining Saronite:
Skill: 401-450

Now we are in the home stretch, which may or may not be good news for you. There may be a lot of people camping these nodes and with out a mount you could be in a nightmare for the last 50 skill levels. No need to worry There are a variety of routes for mining saronite, and better yet titanium can also spawn where saronite nodes spawn. Here are the best spots for saronite mining routes:

Khorium is best to farm, in Nagrand. But its rare, so it takes time to find some
